Yes
Maybe coincidence but since upgrading recently to Monterey I've noticed my Benq intermittently does this:

The video is best viewed in Youtube to see the problem (click the link underneath the video above). Possibly a faulty panel?

I've tried using alternative methods of connecting my MacBook with the problem reoccurring even when using different input ports on the display

Yeah, that looks broken :(

However, a surprising amount of monitor faults are actually software or cable. My Benq had issues after a Windows hotfix that were fixed with a driver reinstall.

I'd try
1. Dropping the OS back to a recovery point (or installing Monterey - 1 on an external and booting from that)
2. A new cable - I know you've tried a couple of ways but get a decent cable on Amazon that has free returns. Ugreen or Kabeldirect seem to be making good stuff.
3. Another computer - it's just possible it's your graphics card (or as Apple call them "your entire computer") :(

That would be a b****r if it's my MacBook as it's just outside of it's Warranty period, whereas my monitor is still under warranty. I'm going to take my display into work, and see how It goes with a different input and a different cable to eliminate that as a possible cause.

Cheers!!

Well after some closer scrutiny and reading up about other people with similar problems I have narrowed the problem down to the new 'variable refresh rate' option which I think is new for Monterey macOS. It was activated by default and upon changing the setting to 60Hz it has stopped the annoying fluctuating which was more apparent when watching videos.

The problem seems widely reported with those using Benq external monitors, and I'm hoping it doesn't revert back automatically like so many have reported.

So far when putting my MacBook to sleep it seems to have kept the setting to the 60Hz refresh rate, and it hasn't reverted back, and so far the problem has gone.

Hopefully others will find this thread useful if they come across similar issues with their setup!!

I've been getting this fluctuating too with my new BenQ monitor. Seems to have only started with Monterey. It doesn't happen with videos or even in general but if I'm editing an image in LR occasionally the screen will start to flicker if I move a certain slider to a certain position. eg. Moving exposure to a specific position causes the image the flicker but moving the slider just one or two bumps across stops the flickering. It's not consistent thought.

My refresh rate is at 60hz and I've tried changing it to different rates.

It definitely seems to be a Monterey thing.

I hope they sort the issue when they release their next update
