Florida camera equipment?

Hi,

Wondering if anyone has been to Orlando recently & bought equipment :shrug:
I going out there in May & would like to buy a long lens, sigma 150-500 or equivalent?
I have an EOS 50D
I’ve looked at Best Buy & Circuit City & they don’t seem to sell it.

I've found that Ritz Cameras are quite good - especially the one on Sand Lake Road, opposite the Florida Mall (http://www.ritzcamera.com/storelocator/Orlando/FL/). Not sure if they stock Sigma but take a look on their site.
Not sure if you'll have transport but this shop on Colonial Drive is very well stocked (http://www.colonialphotohobby.com/photography.htm). Their site doesn't list Sigma but you could always email them and ask. It caters for the professional photographer and they are helpful. Hope that helps, you lucky b****r!

I'll take a look, I'm just looking for a decent ##-500mm lens. Don't fancy paying >£700

We will be in a villa somewhere central & will have a motor of some sort. Probably a big "powerful" mini-bus.

If you're comparing prices between the Uk and the USA, remember to allow for UK import duty (6.7% on lenses) and VAT which will be payable when you bring the equipment in. Regardless of the legal/ethical arguments about this, there is a sound practical one: Sigma UK will not honour the warranty if you cannot prove that you have paid UK import duty and VAT.

There is a shop that used to be called Circuit City,
7802 South Orange Blossom Trail, but looking on the website it appears to have changed to CompUSA. More like a Comet/Currys?dixons type of shop. Never bought anything but always like a wander if i saw one on our travels.

Thanks Stewart, If it is cheap enough I may buy one. My son is getting married to an American girl so I can always get warranty sorted via them Plus I should be able to get military discount.
