Following on from Matt's post last weekend when he left his camera at home due thinking there'd be no time for photos etc - I went for my usual weekend wander on the Amazingstoke Canal yesterday sans Nikon (although I did take the wife!) and as well as the usual grebes / tufted ducks etc I spotted a Pochard duck which I've never seen before and a Kingfisher whizzed by us (although I'd never have got a pic of it as it was on warp speed!)
Wifey fell over yesterday when we got back & has twisted her ankle so I went out on my own this morning sans Nikon (as it was raining) & once again saw a bird I've not seen before on the lake at Mytchett - I saw it fly in & start fishing - It was a Comorant (sp?) although again it was too far away to get a pic of even if I'd taken the Nikon
I know I won't get any sympathy but I thought I'd share my pain with you ... Paul ;)

Yes - we've all been there I think.

Of course we've also all gone out well loaded down with gear and come back without anything at all - camera not even having left mini-trekker so....!

We went out after the Rugby yesterday hoping to catch a late starting local match - only to fiond that both matches that day had been brought forward so that the players could watch the England and Scotland matches! :'(
Did find a nice little church though which will be well worth another visit once I get that 12-24 though!

Cheers Witch - Got that t-shirt too like most of us here no doubt

Joe :p

Paul ;)

Come on you Paddies! :1st: (I can dream!)

Just to make you feel better.... My day was worse than yours!
I had a drive over to Virginia Water to do some of my landscape stuff with my film camera. When I got there, I realised my tripod was still at home :bang: then, to make matters worse, when changing film, I caught something in the inside of my camera with my sleeve - every 36 exp film I put in after then just re-wound after 12 shots, despite trying to mend what I had broken. I used 5 films, and I'll be lucky if I've got about 50 shots :( Then it rained... and yes, I got wet  :'( :'(

Got home, and my other half fixed my camera, so it works properly now, and the sun is out. And you think you had a bad day???

Min - You win, your day was much worse than mine & thanks for cheering me up
Paul

Poor you Cheryl - what a nightmare!

The tripod is the ONLY bit of my camera gear which lives in the boot of the car!

That's where mine usually is - I forgot that I took it out a few days back when I was practising with my IR filter :bang:
