Anyone recommend one of these please? It's our lads 40th B/day soon.

Least travel time from Gosport Hampshire. (y)

I know Virgin sell these experiences/days, but wondered who else does & differences in not just prices, but the actual quality of the experience.

I think there is a simulator in Shoreham ( one in Devon? )

Any recommendations gratefully received, thanks.

Been thinking about the Devon one for a while but last time I looked, it was aimed more at people looking to do a real pilot training course rather than the general public. Just off the A38 so easy to get to once you're on the major road network! http://www.virtualjetcentre.co.uk/

Not one of these simulator experiences but I was lucky enough to spend a few hours on a BA flight simulator courtesy of a pilot friend.
Go for it, it was a great experience, fully enjoyed take off and landing at various places around the world, didn't enjoy having another plane
do a close fly past and I had to do quick avoiding manouvre, very scary, (yes my friend has a sense of humour )

I bought my partner a voucher for this one (at Chudleigh) for his birthday. He's booked for the beginning of next month, and I might go and look over his shoulder if I can get the day off work. Since we are both PPL holders and he's big on flight simming airliners, it should be interesting.

I'll be very interested to hear his and your report on it, Jan. Not sure if you can choose your own out/in airports but if I could choose, I'd like to try EXT>HER (but miss out the 4 hours or so between them!) Might have to treat Mrs Nod (and myself!) next birthday.

After a bit of research, booked a Typhoon simulator for him at Horsham, West Sussex, via IntoTheBlue

A quick update.

It was bought for his B/day last Feb. but he's just been this morning. He said it was fantastic & really enjoyed the experience. (y) http://www.virtualflight.co.uk/shop/4585357278

Because he was the only one there, they gave him an extra 1/2 hour. (I guess at this time of year most folk will be buying them as Christmas gifts for use next year, so maybe a tip for anyone getting one of these is to leave it until Dec if poss?)
