Which site is best to upload onto the forum? And why

cheers

Photobucket - it's what they're meant for. Setting my bias aside I genuinely think if you're uploading photos for forums you should get a 'bucket. Flickr is more of a gallery designed for viewing and comments. Photobucket is just webspace with link-able albums.

Plus, anything run by Yahoo! must be boycotted in my opinion ;)

I agree with the above but I have both.

Flickr for showing my pictures.

Photobucket for showing them on forums as its quick and easy.

With Flikr you have a10mb file limit if your not a paid subscriber and max u/l's per month, bucket is as you want :)

Photobucket......by a country mile..

or tinypic..:)

Flickr is horrific..

I've had a Photobucket account for ages now and wouldn't switch to Flikr for forum uploads, everything is just so fast and easy.

I find photobucket doesnt keep the quality tbh, much prefer flickr.

Cheers all, i asked because i recently uploaded some pics in the motorsports and i thought they lost a fair bit of quality. I'm still very new to this photo lark. but they look a lot better on my pc than the forum. Think i'll load them onto flickr and see the difference . But just wanted to ask as i have read a few folk say that flickr keeps the quality better as some have said.

thanks again, but any more feedback wont go a miss

An 800 x 600 pix 200kb image uploaded to photobucket or tinypic is identical to the one on my hard drive..

I wouldn't upload anything I didn't want borrowing to either though, that goes to the power of 50 for Flickr..:)

I'd be willing to debate the so called 'quality' of flickr. While I used it, it seemed to sharpen my pictures for me, which is a bit of a 'do not want' situation as some then looked oversharpened.

Flickr is overdone and overhyped, to me.

Have both! They are free so what to loose? Then you can make up your own mind, everyone on here will tell you different answer (see above) :D

I use flickr. As a BT Internet user, I get a free pro account, which means unlimited storage and uploads! As long as you avoid uploading to groups (unless you love having "YOUR PHOTO HAS BEEN AWARDED ONE (meaningless) SUPER AMAZING GOLD STAR" plastered over everything), you'll be just fine!

Chris

just wondering why only the two options.. personally i wouldnt give either the time of day :)

thats the two main ones i know off, feel free to fling another option in the pot

The free photobucket account is plagued by tons of adverts whereas flickr's minimum.

I have used PB for years & i am quite happy with it,it just works.:)

A couple of others as well but PB mainly.

I use Photobucket because I can access it from work. If I'm on TP in work (yeah yeah I know I shouldn't be) then I can't view any photos what have been uploaded to Flickr which can be very annoying.

I've been tempted to join Flickr to show a gallery of my photos but I have my own website for that so I don't really see the need for it.

I much prefer Photobucket as you can name your own folders and it retains the image name so using a base tiny URL I can just add a foldername and image to get a URL, much better than the unintelligble long URL's of Fickr, that I would have to maintain an index for.

I've used Picassa before, its quick and convenient and has links to the photo printing services I use. Any reason why no-one's mentioned that?

Yep i use that as well as others i have mentioned.:)

I can't really comment on Photobucket 'cos I've not actually used it. Flickr is generally fine for me (and I'm a BT customer and therefore a 'pro' user too).

There's a lot to like about it... Plenty of interaction and you can get as involved as you want to. :)

I used PB for a while, but just didnt really get on with it, Flickr to me is much more user friendly

Took the er, type right out of my fingers :D

Both for me loses a bit of sharpness.
I don't wanna upload my shots to two different places, so I stick with flickr.
