Posted some images tonight on Flickr, I'd covered a local trail race last night and awaited "likes" from friends who'd run. Why would some unknown person fave my photos? They'd only posted 67 images themselves, none of which were to do with running yet had over 8.7K followers. My images were nowhere to be seen in their FAVES.

I don't know if the name troll really fits, isn't that more like the behaviour of a vampire?

All that means is they have only posted 67 public photos - they may have millions of their own that are restricted to followers / family etc.

Anyway - that's not trolling by any stretch. That's someone faving a picture you have published for what ever reason they think is valid. No harm / no Foul.

I've noticed I can get a fave on a photo that I've just uploaded but the image is saying no views!

I do wonder sometimes why I get faves on some seemingly innocuous photos or even on photo that aren't really that good.
Each to their own I suppose.

He is after more people to follow him, He is hoping that you will be so flattered that he has "faved" one of your images that you will follow him. Odd but 8.7k people have done so.

They may have recognised themselves on one of your photo's? I shoot a lot of park runs and this is what happens to me sometimes.

Another explanation is that there are apparently flickr scripts that you can connect to your account that go off and randomly fave other people's pictures, in the hope that you will then return the favour or maybe become a follower. I think I get a fair few of these as the last picture of a lot of my albums systematically seems to get faved, even though that is usually one of the less appealing shots in the album:

Either way I wouldn't call it trolling - trolling means someone is intentionally trying to get on your nerves or wind you up, which does not seem to be the case here.

I didn't mention the word troll but being an old git I'm wary of anything like this. Someone, a man, who faved some of my images had page after page of photos of JUST women runners. Hmm.

it's in the thread title, maybe he just has a fetish.
