Flickr, or something else?

I've been wanting to upload to images to the site and I know that most people use Flickr, however I am unhappy with their terms and the fact the image sizes are being restricted so it's no good for image storage. I am wondering what other free(ish) photo-hosting site are available that would also be easy to link to TP? If I could be sure I could link pictures to TP easily, I'd be willing to pay for a photo-hosting package. I do have Amazon Prime but it seems somewhat clunky to use to link individual pictures and MS OneDrive is just incomprehensible to me as I never know where my photos are at any given time (perhaps it's just me being thick).

If you pay for Flickr Pro, there's no image restrictions, that's only on the free limited version.

Is Flickr Pro also any good for backups of non-photography stuff or is it just for images? I ask because I'm also trying to consolidate my photos, music and documents although this is incidental to my original question.

Flickr is image hosting only (think they allow short videos).

There is..

If you are attaching files they must be below 500kb and no larger than 1024px on the longest side.

There is. Although you are limited by the practicality of showing your images here anyway. You could link to larger images, but why would you when you can't see them in their entirety? What I am attempting to say is that they only have to be big enough to fit comfortably in the average thread.

You really need to decide if you are looking for cloud storage or portfolio showcase feed on social media, or perhaps one of each. There are no 2 in 1 solutions.

I've been using Flickr for years on the free plan. I found Foto, but it is only an app at the moment. They plan to have a desktop version, but when? Certainly seems to have the potential to be good. BUT Flickr is streets ahead, so my £5 a month (paid annually) I will probably end up there.

What did you go for in the end OP?

I took the politicians way out—I did nothing.

I'll just continue with my normal plan of backing up to a couple of other hard drives using Microsoft SyncToy (unsupported and difficult to find these day but still exists) on a completely random schedule. I just wanted to set and forget but there is nothing that piques my interest. I do have a free Flickr account now, for linking to TP and storing photos people I know might be interested in, anything else I have to go look for.
