Hi All

I've just got my first iPad (I know about time etc!) and I'd been hoping to use it to show people pictures from a flickr account as this is something I've been doing for ages with my phone and it's a great way of showing people our holiday snaps without worrying about local storage etc. Unfortunately the flickr app isn't iPad optimised for some reason and the website is just horrible to use on any device these days!

Does anyone use any third party app for flickr on an iPad and would you recommend it?

There is another flickr app which uses full screen, I have it on me iPad but can't think what it's called at minute and on my iphone it don't show up in store. Put a search in the App Store for Flickr.

thanks guys will have a look, really don't understand why yahoo don't spend 5 minutes sorting the phone app which is great so it scales to the ipad but then I don't understand a lot of what yahoo are doing with flickr these days!

I think the idea was to make it look good on mobile as that's where a lot of growth comes from. Which isn't such a terrible goal but they really should have left the previous display options for people on PCs

flickr app is definitely on iPad my wife uses it at work to show her friends her pics. are you sure its not already on your iPad as it won't show in a search if you already have it, hth mike. top row second from left.

Flickr have not released an iPad version of their iPhone app. You can use the iPhone app on an iPad or use the mobile version of their site on an iPad. But an official iPad app does not exist.

strange that you have to download this safari shortcut from the app store even more confused

No you don't. When you are viewing any site on an iPad you have an option to "add to home screen". That's what's been done in this case.

Shame it's as bad on a touchscreen as it is on a PC will check out flickstackr and see how I get on.

It's quite easy to get any WWW site instantly on an ipad without using an app store programme. You need to open Safari, type in the web address, and when it's showing in the title bar, click the icon in the top right hand corner, which looks like a square with an arrow pointing upward. You will then get a multiple choice box. Click the box that says 'Add to homescreen'. You will then get a dialogue box with the web address and an 'Add option'. Highlight the web address, and change it to whatever you like, and click 'Add'. Safari will add an icon to the next space available on your home screen. Clicking it will take you to whichever address you have saved. It will save any page or site which can be opened in gooooogle or Safari.

That's what I said.
