Hi, I notice that lots of people posting photos in the forum have Flickr accounts. Is the free Flickr account worth while?
Apart from storage and the obviousbenefit of it being free where the pro account costs, are there any other benefits of having the free account?

I used to have a Pro account, unless you need unlimited storage and ad free viewing I didn’t think it was worth it especially when they had huge price hikes and then the Flickr community died out when the new mgmt spoilt it so it became pointless to pay.
 
It's personal & I'm not going to try and cover all the bases, but I don't use Flickr for storage - I can do that myself - but I use it for certain forms of sharing. And this kicks in:

"Where do ads appear on Flickr? We show ads on pages viewed by users who aren't signed in, and to free members. Pro members who are signed in never see ads on Flickr. Ads may appear throughout Flickr and in our app. (21 Jul 2020)"

I want to be able to review my own images that are on Flickr, and the images of others, without seeing ads ..

To me, that's important enough for me to stump up yearly.
 
It also appears that there's a mechanism for sharing images / albums on Flickr with a third party without them needing to be a member or sign in, and they won't see ads if they follow the link you send them ... handy for family / friends / someone you're trying to promote your work to.
 
It also showcases your best work on a daily basis , so you can see if you have improved over the years / change of camera ,lenses etc . I have also sold a couple after enquiries From there ,well worth while
And if you do go pro the stats keep track of how many views you generate , at last check mine was just under 10 million views worldwide

Does it state how many of the views are from Bots?

If you have an Amazon Prime account, you get unlimited picture storage, prime delivery and prime video too. Not tried linking a picture here tho.
