I have a Canon 580EX II and the head tilts up and down through the vertical plane but refuses to rotate left and right horizontally.. it feels like something may snap if I try to force it.
Anyway I sent it off the Canon at Elstree and they have just informed me that they charge a fixed price of £156 for repairs on speedlights.
That's a ridiculous amount to pay for something that is likely to me a plastic part of the mechanism broken so I am now looking for an independent repairer who will be able to take it apart and look at it and then give me a price.
Anyone know of a good one?
