Yes
My Sigma EF-500 DG ST arrived today (woo hooo lol), I have been told it eats power even when switched off.. as long its attached to the camera.
Is this true???

Apologies for the really dumb question I just posted, I can't see it being true but I though I should check cos I'm out with it tonight.

Dunno about being attached to the camera but both my Metz and Nikon flush guns eat batteries when not in use. Now they get taken out and put on charge after every use and I keep a spare pack of disposable batteries in the bag in case I forget to pick the re-chargable ones up.

I'm taking some fully charged rechargeables and some Energizer Lithium ones.
So I'm best taking batteries out til I intend to use the flashgun (which hubby has put on so tightly I can't unscrew it haha)?

I would personally. I thought it was just a Metz problem but when I later bought the Nikon it did the same thing to a lesser extent.

naughty flashguns! They deserve punishment. :p
