Flash to Lightstand attachment?

What's the best way to attach a flash gun to a adapter like this:

I could use a flash stand, but I only have or have had the ones that have plastic threads, so they will wear out over time.

You need a coldshoe, you can pick up the stroboframe-type clamp ones for around a fiver...
