flash ring

I can post an example tomorrow as I am on the laptop just now and it doesnt have a card reader, but I think its from the lens being too long, it happens mostly when I hold the camera side ways.

Thanks Fletch for explaining the flash to me.

Yep, it sounds like the shadow's cast from the lens due to it being in between the light-of-sight (or light in this case) between the on-board flash and the subject; your son.

If that's the case, then as-per my first response, I'd recommend you get a speedlight (nowt £££-fancy, a SB24 or SB40 is kushti) for the hotshoe; or take the pic with a shorter lens, or have the subject firther from you

SB-24 is too old to give CLS (and costs too much for "normal" use) and as for the SB40...whassat?

Good stuff, and you might find that it will be more than adequate for the piccies you'll be taking. So it's worth giving it a while before commiting monies to a flash thats a lot more expensive (in relative terms)

its more for my college course tbh :D

But I am pleased with it (doesnt take much to please me lol)

Now all I need to find is a tripod and a battery grip... Though I cant seem to find one for a D60 :(
