flash or continuous

well i want o start taking portrait shots of my children, some on there own and some as a group some posing and some just when there playing with there toys,

also i would like to take some of my baby neices and nephews but im not sure if i should buy a flash set up or continuous, so does anyone have any recomendations.

i should add at the moment my budget is around £200 but i can always add at a later stage if needed

well the reason i was gonna go for continuous is because i read its better for babies but now i have just read that its no good for older kids when there moving around

anyone got any advice

please...

There are lots of threads on this exact subject, just do a search.

How can continuous light be better for babies? Although it has very little power compared to flash, it's on all the time so seems bright and can cause real discomfort for everyone, and that certainly includes babies. With flash, it's come and gone in a tiny fraction of a second and usually isn't even noticed, unless it's an on-camera flash with no diffusion.
