I have a Nikon F100 and today i got a nikon fit jessops flash does the same as Nikon one.
My question is:
in aperture priority the maximum speed i get is 1/60 with TTL
If i go manual and choose an aperture let say 11 and a speed of 1/200 do the flash will compensate in accordance with ttl?
Same in speed priority i can only get 1.8 aperture if i dial 1/200 speed.

The flash exposure is not affected by shutter speed, so shutter does not matter to the flash - the TTL flash is still fully automatic. This means indoors, camera A mode and camera M mode are exactly the same for the flash.. If you set f/5 either way, the TTL will do the same thing either way, absolutely no difference to the TTL flash exposure if you set the same aperture. But M mode also lets you control the ambient with shutter speed, instead of always using 1/60 second. M mode is the answer. :)

A quick Google suggests that the max sync speed of the F100 is 1/125s - a shutter speed faster than this (EG 1/200) will result in only part of the image being properly exposed.

This is due to the mechanical design of the shutter - to get an exposure of 1/200 (for example) the rear shutter starts to close before the front shutter has fully opened.
With continuous light, this is not a problem, as the entire frame is exposed for the same duration, but with flash the light is only there for a brief instant, and only that portion of the frame that is 'open' at that instant gets exposed.

So the answer is yes, exposure will be OK, but also no - if you have to high a shutter speed only part of the frame will be exposed!

Looked at the manual and flash synch is 1/250.

Did a try roll yesterday and in any setting the flash compensate well in TTL.
