not speedlights, but does anyone know of any good / reasonably priced places to get sets / sheets of gel sized big enough for studio heads?

know all the usual places, sellers on ebay selling large sheets that would do 24" squareish sheets, lovegrove consulting's pack etc...any tips / places I've missed?

The lovegrove set looks pretty sweet, but £50 is a fair bit of cash :(... one with half the gels for half the price would be perfect :P )
 
YES! find a theatre lighting company near you - available in 4 ft wide rolls by the foot - MUCH cheaper per sq inch than the rip-offs for flash! Huge range too!

yeah....will have to measure but I'm pretty sure that each gel sheet in those packs will make enough to do 4 sheets to fit on my barn doors :D

you had any issues with modelling lights etc?

Haven't really used them with modelling lights but if you read here they are rated up to 180°C.
 
I purchased two tubes of gels from JESSOPS.They were classed as warm (red,orange,yellow etc) and cool (blue,green etc)
