I have A CANON 60D and trying to get in to photography and fancy doing some portrait shots at home.
I am looking at flash and or lights options.
Would I be better to get a wireless flash that I can then add another flash to at a later date and fire two from the 60d? or would I be better to get a cheaper flash and get studio lights further down the road?
I currently have a nissin 622 but I am thinking of exchanging (just bought it) for either a metz 50 or canon 430ex. But then the 430ex is £100 more than my nissin and I wondered if better staying with nissin and putting the £100 towards a £250 lighting kit at later date, I really am confused......decisions..decisions...please advise?

I hate to be the dull one, but surely if you're new to photography you'd be better off getting to grips with the basics first? Unless you have an understanding of those then it's unlikely you're going to just start producing the results you need.

I've got a lighting kit, got access to studio kit, got three flashguns, yet the thing that's excited me most recently is a £20 Gary fong lightsphere 2 from Kerso. Softens flashgun light eliminating those harsh shadows. Really nice for such little money.

You seem to be trying to do everything all at once, which is probably not a good idea until you've got a better handle on things.

If you're serious about photography then you will certainly need a decent flash gun. And if you're serious about portraits then a studio outfit (£300 upwards) is where you'll probably end up. Either way, the Nissin is a good value flash and you should be able to work it in to any future system.
