Flash advice

I own a Nikon D40 which I use on a daily basis outdoors. I would like to use it indoors for my kids/pets but find the attached flash a "bit" poor. Seeing as the D40 has a flash sync of 1/500 what flash would work well with this ?

Nothing mega bucks though ;)
 
Any flash gun for nikons will do . What you might like to think about is using it off camera as well. Then you could go for a corded or radio wireless, don't know if it is capable of optical remote.


I have just gone for a radio remote wireless system so you would need a transmitter on the hotshoe and a receiver for the flashgun. Just having the flashgun on top of the camera restricts how you can control light direction.

AS for make and price you would have to look that up for yourself

from the left and from the right, something you can't get with the flashgun on the hotshoe ,nor even with the optical remote if your camera has it.They actually sent me the latest version of the trigger and receiver not the earlier one advertised
