Hi all

This Saturday (4 November) is the last big event at Santa Pod this year. It's their "Flame & Thunder" extravaganza!!! :D

Drag Racing Family Firework Spectacular!

300mph Nitro guzzling Top Fuel Dragsters, Jet action with cars, quads and trucks, Drifting demos, Monster Trucks, Freestyle Motocross, Huge Firework displays at 5.30pm and 7pm, Massive Bonfire, 70's Disco and loads more for all the family.

It seems like a good photo opportunity to me!

I have already discussed this with Dan (Marik) who is keen to go. If anyone else is interested we could make it a TP meet?

So far we have:

Cost is £15 before 2pm and £10 after, which seems reasonable to me.
 
Looking forward to this mate, it's a great event living only a few miles from santa pod means I've seen (and heard) it ever year!

Love to come Joe but unfortunately I've got work commitments that day :'( There's an outside chance I might be able to re arrange though :shrug: If I can I will coz I reckon that'd be a great day

Sounds fab. It's my weekend off too, so I'll try to persuade the other half! Will get back to you on this one.
 
Yep... he didn't take much persuading :lol: We'll be there!
 
I've been told I can go but I must be home by 6pm.


(we're having a fireworks party that evening & my wife says she may need some help )

Just showed him the details & it was a YES :) , It's his 13th birthday on Friday so expect a sulky teenager on the day ;)
 
Possibly 2 more for the list - John and me are seriously considering joining you there. To be confirmed a bit nearer the day....
 
As I'm having a Fireworks party it should be dry for the 'Pod & **** it down in the evening :)
 
Well, the forecast for Saturday is sunny, 10 degrees and winds of 5mph (per the BBC). Sounds alright to me. :)

Those of you that have put your names down will get a pm from me today with my mobile number.

I suggest that people turn up as and when they wish to, and that once there we try to meet up. I think keeping it pretty informal would be best! As I say, I'm planning on turning up at around 12pm I think. The second fireworks display starts at 7, so I think I might be there untill around 8pm.

Anyone else thinking of coming up? The more the merrier!!

I suggest bringing ear plugs, as the Top Fuel cars and the Jet Cars are very loud indeed! A 7000 bhp engine makes a lot of noise!!!

Am really looking forward to this -should be a good day, and it's something entirely different for me. The other half can't believe his luck - his girlfriend actually asking him if he wanted to go to a motorsports event :lol: I usually go to these things under protest!

Being a biker I have plenty of ear plugs so I'll bring a load with me save you guys buying any.
 
I'm still planning on being there (no John though). Aiming for midday and probably leaving after the first fireworks.
 
Don't know if I'm going to make it , I've got to finish the kitchen before the party (sat night) and wifey only decided on the tiles last night. Only got 3 sq meters of tiles left to do & 7 mains sockets to replace.

Well, it turned out to be a great day, although I only met the others briefly (Joe T, Robert P, neonpollen and Marik)... we wandered off for something to eat and never saw them again :(
Lots of loud fast cars to keep the other half happy and smiling ;) Hopefully photo's to follow later if there are any decent ones.

Twas a good day.

It was good to meet Andy and Minimeeze again, and also to meet RobertP and Marik for the first time. The cars were awesome as always!

After the final fireworks at 7ish the queues to get out were so bad that Dan and his mate Ed and I decided to wander around and do some random low-light shooting.

Ive had a quick run through the pics and I fairly happy with some of them. So expect a full thread from me tomorrow.

Nice shot Joe! Looks like a scene from a sci-fi film.

I've just had a lovely soak in the bath to defrost myself and to get rid of the smell of jet car... I now understand what you meant about being in the barn when the jet car revved up - not a good idea :lol:
 
I left before any of the fireworks and got out easily. Had some fireworks to let off here so no time to hang around....at least that is what I was told when I phoned home :)

I could see the bonfire as I walked back to the car...
