First time shooting with 50mm

So its my Birthday on Monday and I am getting a 50mm f/1.8 from my other half, heading into London for the day and having never shot with a fixed focal before (other than my 60mm f/2.8 macro) I am quite looking forward to seeing how my shots come out!

Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for in London???

We're heading to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and then probably head onto Oxford street/Carnaby Street to hit the shops $$$ lol
