First studio kit

Hi all.

I'm looking to upgrade (decided on 550d) and was thinking of getting my first bit of studio lighting.

Looking at the Lencarta Smart Flash basic setup at about £330 or this from Jessops - http://www.jessops.com/online.store/products/74367/show.html

What are people's thoughts and is there something better around that rice range?

I have a Lencarta set up and am very very pleased with it. never tried the jessops so can't compare but for me the lencarta prove excellent value.

Another brand for the purpose of balance is elemental (or something of the sort).

i would suggest that whatever brand you go for get one that uses the bowens S type fitting as there are loads of light modifiers available for that fitting.
