Which film would you suggest as a first roll to through a MM camera ??
Should it be b&w?
And Sorrento send two rolls for developing and scanning.

Did you write this when you were p***ed Lukas? Or is it making no sense to me because I have been sampling some of Edinburgh's finest malts?
 
I'd do B&W but more because I can develop it myself and wouldn't have to wait.

If you're sending it away, colour so you can see whether the lens gives any interesting shifts or effects.

If you're using a lab to develop your film, then use a fresh roll of C41-process film (e.g., colour negative, Ilford XP2, or Fuji 400CN).

Traditional black and white is good if you're developing the film yourself, but it's typically more expensive when lab processed.
 
Don't have place and materials to do it by myself...so for time being, will have to send it to someone/somewhere...any good places to get cheap film from ?
 
7dayshop have some good deals at the moment. Tri-x and Portra are a couple of quid cheaper for a five roll pack than I've seen elsewhere and they give discounts off bulk buys (starting at two packs). The Tri-X I bought worked out at £3.90 per roll including postage.

Cheap B/W 120? Why not Foma Fomapan, or alternatively you could try Rollei Retro? Not tried the Retro myself (FirstCall Photography sell it), but Foma (from Ebay sellers) is fun. Used a batch of 100, now I'm trying out 200. The below photo was shot on Foma Fomapan 100 in my Bronica, and home developed in ID11:

However... if home developing B/W isn't your taste yet, then you could try some nice C-41, something like Kodak Ektar? I can't recommend a postal processor I'm afraid - no experience. I'd try a local independent (I know of one not far away), or a local Snappy Snaps branch. However, if you want quality?
