Just started to use this, as I think I need some advice. I upgraded from my Canon 400D to a 500D in June, and my landscape shots dont seem anywhere as sharp as with the 400D. Has anyone else experienced this? I am still very much a learner, so any advice would be welcome. - I took this whilst up in Cheshire last weekend.

This is my first attempt at upload and can only manage a link as yet!:bonk:

Hi and welcome! I am still using a 350D so cant offer advice but could be to do with the kit lens and IS feature - did both have this or are you using different lenses, settings etc...? Very difficult to compare unless doing exactly same subject in same manner and same settings!

Welcome anyways...

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your reply. After reading lots of reviews, I opted for the Canon 28-135 IS USM lens. It was recommended as a good walkaround lens with no need to keep changing. Short distance shots such as people and buildings seem ok, but landscapes dont seem to have the sharpness of those taken with my old 400d. I will keep trying.. perhaps it's just me getting used to the more advanced processor!

Best regards
Alan
