Hello all TP members. I've been introduced to you by my son (Ukkor) who knows a lot more about this new fangled internet technology than I do. I will get round to posting some pics in the next few days, when I've got into the rules etc.
I guess I've been into photography for 35 years now - first camera a Canon FTbn, second hand then and it still workswhen you can find the battery.
I spent a bit of time with a b/w darkroom outfit and got some pleasing results; I tried colour but it was too critical for an ad-hoc setup.
Only really got back into the swing of things when I finally got enough cash to buy the 400D. It is pretty basic by todays standards but it suits my purpose for now. I am wondering about a second body as I've always been used to carrying two cameras around with me.
Photo interests? I like to go for detail - picking bits out of what I see around me. I particularly like the macro aspect and although I get (what I think are) reasonable results I'm constantly amazed at the sheer quality of what I see around the galleries these days. Even an old hand can learn something new.
I don't like the camera to 'tell lies' but I do like working with the software. I like to either put a picture in it's context - dating the image, or I'll go to the extremes of being abstract just to see the effect. It really depends what I'm doing at the time.
Anyhow, I look forward to posting before the end of the week.
cheers.
