As most are aware I have been shooting aircraft for a while at Sandtoft and I have been offered flights from most of the pilots there, well foolishly I did accept one and tomorrow is the big day..............I AM TERRIFIED

I hate flying in the big boys, Adrian (pilot) did assure me last week its safe (just had brakes and radio fixed)

so wish me well I may even get back alive to post the shots:(

If you are terrified of going up in that never accept a trip in a hellicopter :D

What no guns?

I agree completely, never have I been more terrified/exhilarated than when I was in one. :)

I was given a lesson in a dual controlled two seater for a birthday present, was terrified at first, ok once I got up there was following instructions from the pilot and then towards the end of the flight he surprised me by telling me I had been flying the thing on my own for the past few minutes as he had let go of the controls:eek: so now I can always claim to have flown a helicopter before:D

Joking apart it was a great experience to fly from the old Newcastle airport across to the coast, then we followed the course of the River Tyne then over Newcastle United football stadium and on back.

I would NEVER take a trip in a hot air balloon or a motorised hang glider:shake:

The aircraft looks fine. But the pilot REALLY should know that he's supposed to remove the cranking handle once its started!
What time are you up? I might try to catch it!

Kev.

Sounds excellent, mine was back in 1997ish, My fathers work used to do ventilation systems for army bases here in NI. Well, I was on work experience with him at the time. It was in an army helicopter that dropped the squaddies in and out of a base called Crossmaglen. They went at a ridiculous speed, the pilot had to fly really low, even flying up for telegraph poles and trees. I would probably never get in a helicopter again. Ever.

Good luck Peter. Hope Eileen manages to get some good shots with her new toy!

You're braver than me. I don't think I could do it!

WE DID IT....... what a buzz Eileen got the shots will post some of us both in the air later

Nice to hear you are still alive:D
