First Family Photoshoot

Greetings all,

I'm doing my first photoshoot with a family - does anyone have any tips?

I think/hope I might be alright with the adults as I've done a fair number of photoshoots (admittedly with amauter models rather than the general public), but I'm nervous about working with the kids!

The person I've been arranging it with says she'd like relaxed/informal photos of the children as well as portraits, so does anyone have any ideas of how to achieve that?

I am no expert in this area Tom, but it would depend on the ages of the children I suppose. I would imagine being dressed in casual clothes (not scruffy though), and adopting comfortable, at ease poses would be the order of the day. Is it to be shot indoors or out?
It may be a good idea to have a look in at the portrait pictures section on here, and look for family groups.

Lightroom and CS4/5/6 should be more than plenty for your needs. The danger with buying various plug ins is that you'll end up with lots of different PP styles and worse, none of the shots look particularly natural.
