First Attempts at Birds in Flight Photography

I’ve started spending a bit more time working on birds in flight, which is definitely pushing me out of my comfort zone.

This was taken recently while watching a small group feeding. I was trying to anticipate movement rather than react to it, and managed to catch this moment as one bird lifted off while the others stayed put.

Still plenty to learn, especially with consistency and timing, but I’m enjoying the challenge. Any feedback or tips always welcome.

Nice to see Greenfinches and Goldfinches squabbling, more so if one bird is at a feeder and another one in flight and in attack mode...

That’s really good for a learner . You obviously have the right shutter speed set etc .. the rest comes with observations
