I like number 3 the best. Trucks and lorries are your friends with these, as they have a few extra coloured lights on them.

We are not in a critique section so all I'll say is as posted above there there earlier  also what were your settings as they're not visible, you may find it useful to read my guide to light trails there is a link to it in my signature

Why would you up the ISO ?

When I set it to a lower iso I was struggling with it being to dark. As I said it's my first attempt so just learning really. Had a little read up before I went to try and help.
Next time as suggested I will try and get out a bit earlier.
Was trying to pic up on the lorries for that higher tail light. Actually had an ambulance go past at one point which gave an interesting light trail but the pic diddent come out to well.

Id say you've got the exposure pretty much nailed (imho). I like the bridge shot the most, but as has been said before try to go out earlier to get a little blue in the sky, you may prefer those.

I may have a play at doing these myself this evening.

EDIT, i notice not in the critique section..apologies.

Thanks for the comments guys. As the nights are well and truly drawn in thought it would be good to try this and take advantage of the early nights. Need to try and think of some new ideas for the light trails, there is a train line near by so might try something with that ? Any other ideas.
Must say that I did find it funny seeing the looks people were giving me as I stood there with my camera in the middle of the night they must of thought I was mad. Need to find a light trail buddy hehe

So what do we do here? Just look at the photos, say nothing then move on?

He asked for comments so we can give them to him.

Personally mate for a first try they are the best I've seen on this forum. Keep at it, you will only keep getting better.

I like No 3 but maybe crop the image removing the RHS as I think its a bit distracting. Possibly making it square with the start of the light trail being on the Rule Of Thirds line. Possibly clone out the mast too.

I really like number 3 too. Nice light trail and the sky looks good too. The rise and fall of the road surface adds interest.

I always find it funny how when you take the picture and have a look on the small screen you can think to yourself naaa that one didn't really work but when you get home and stick it on the pc it's a completely different story! This goes for pic no. 3. I was on a little quiet bridge and I must have waited for about 10mins waiting for a bloody car to come and just by chance two came at once. (like a bus)
Will try and get out there to get some more.
I always think a little luck helps you along the way!

Although very bloody cold went out again tonite as it was so clear but was having some issues with glear from the moon andvthe finish result ended up looking like a bright star ? Has any one got any suggestions to stop the glear.
As you may appreciate it's nearly 11 o'clock so will try and get pic up tomorrow. Thanks

i like them mate fair play for your first Go...

Good stuff. I really need to get out one of these [very cold] nights and get back to doing some of these. Been a while.

Hi there just read your guide to light trails and I'm struggling to understand how you can use such low iso . If i go lower then 400 then the surrounding just comes out black (night shots). The pics shown above were taken at a 30second exposure 800 iso. I have just started using bulb but still struggle to get some light into the picture.
