Can't actually say I've found the autofocus to be a prob in the 1Ds, but I've not been doing a lot of action shots so far.

i havent noticed the AF being that much of a problem either, but small birds have proven to be difficult for it if they arent filling the frame, hopefully this update will help that

I don't think the 1Ds had the same problem as the 1D had with focusing. Mines been fine as well.

Nice to see they've given the Multi controller the same focus point selector as on the 5D.

If you look on the Rob Galbraith site, you'll see they say they both have the same system for autofocus, there's been a lot of discussion on this, Canon say no they aren't the same but my suspicion is they are very similar.
