Firmware update.

Been notified that there is an update on the firmware for my R5 camera. Which is v 1.81,. I have dl to a SD card, the card is formatted in the camera. the card shows that there are 3 files on it. The camera tells me that a card is necessary for the camera to update so I don't get the update.
Any ideas what has gone wrong.

It's normal to use the root directory of a card for an update file. Where did you put it?

I copied it and dropped to on the SD card on the iMac.

Be sure the files are in the root directory of the card (not in a sub folder)
Set the camera to P mode.
Navigate the camera menu to firmware.
It should be self explanatory after that.

What file are you copying to the card. The download is compressed and comes in a .dmg format. You need to open that .dmg file on the mac and then copy over the .fir file to the card.

Copying the .dmg file to the card will not work.
