I currently use an Interfit IR trigger to fire my flash units, I have one in the Hilite and one lighting the subject. I am looking for additional light to light the vinyl train, and thought I may be able to utilise my 430ex, what kind of additional kit would I require to fire the speedlight off camera?

Cheers for any info

Dave

You could either use a set of the RF-602 triggers to fire both the studio lights and the 430 (you'd need a trigger plus three receivers) or use an optical slave on the 430, although that might be a bit hit-or-miss for pro-use..

430EX won't work with a normal optical slave - the slave needs to be modified to prevent SCR lock up. See this thread http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=1861070#post1861070

I think the best way is probably to use one radio trigger (from FITP?) to fire the 430EX on manual, and if you have optical slaves on the other studio heads, the 430EX should trigger them also.

That's the way I'm doing it (580EX, Elinchrom heads, Pocket Wizard).
