Hello

To photograph bees etc (especially in flight) I am told I need to use 2 flashes, one each side of the macro lens, about 4" either side. I thought I could use my Pocket Wizards but they don't appear to work with the TT1 and TT5s in very close proximity.

I think I need some short cables - can you please advise what cables I need to trigger 2 x Canon 430ExIIs from my 5DMkIII and retain the ETTL capability )1 cable seems no problem but 2?. Advice please

The pocket wizards only seen to work with >12" separation.

Thanks, Mel :help:

Personally, I'd take advantage of the separation by fitting them with mini softboxes.

But I'd have to stress I'm no Macro expert.

Difficult to walk around with this - need compact set up!

It's impossible to make an SLR Macro lens and 2 flashes 'compact' But you can easily get them far enough apart without making them too unwieldy.

I don't know what flashes you have, is one capable of being a 'master'?

If so a simple OCF cable to the master and use the Canon optical system to fire the slave, should work perfectly at those distances.

Alternatively, OCF cable to flash 1 sat on the TT1 should be enough distance from flash 2 sat on the TT5. You can get a Canon dedicated cable for relatively little money from lots of places.

:bonk: I've just realised that without a cable your TT1 was on camera and your flashes would have been much too close.
