Well with tonight being bonfire night and the weather for cast is for a clear cold night I'm off to take some shots of a few fire works. I will be on a hill over looking the city and also over looking a park where they will be having a big display. I don't want to take a lot of gear with me as the hill is pretty big and I'm quite fat. So do you think a medium zoom and a tripod would be enough. Also have any of you got a few tips for me?

Thanks in advance.

A bit late now I'm afraid, but if you check my signature there is a guide to firework photography  to answer your equipment question it's really difficult it depends where you'll be in relation to the display, distance wise and what you want to capture, a landscape with fireworks? just the fireworks? etc

This year for fireworks I've exclusively used my 5D3 and 24-70 for fireworks mainly because I like my fireworks to be shown as part of the landscape
