Firstly looking to get some filters for my new lens - which brands (not too expensive and not too cheap) do you guys recommend and where are the best places to get them from?

Thanks!

That second link is a load crap, dont bother with those.
The first should be ok, if it is a genuine Hoya. There are many fakes around.
You might be better off getting one from a reputable shop rather than ebay.

Cheers done a quick search and they seem legit.

Are Hoya and Kenko the same quality?

So do you buy the screw in filters? Only problem with that is if you have more than one lens with different size threads. Could get expensive

Or just buy the biggest screw in you need and get stepping up rings - that's what I do....

I have a jessops UV, Cheap Star Filter (which works very well), and a Kenko CPL (again works as required)

Slightly OT but where is the cheapest place for decent ND grads?

I bought some cheapo cokin P type stuff of flea bay from hong kong, about as much use as a chocolate fireguard:razz:, took 1 photo and chucked them in the bin.
I use sevendayshop , seem to be okay (at least for me :D)

teamworkphoto for the hitechs ?
I've got a set.

I got a cheapo cokin holder from premier ink rather than buying the hitech one, works fine for me.

Maybe we can meet up somewhere if you want a look jimmy ?
