Yes
Just thought I'd relay my experience of ordering some filters from Purely Gadgets. I ordered a couple of filters (52mm) for my kit lens and delivery wasn't exactly speedy.

One arrived 5 days after my initial order (which was 10am on a Monday) and the other 10 days later. It just seems that 10 days is a long time to post a UV filter from London. I emailed a few times and all I got was the canned reply of "we'll dispatch asap".

Everything was in stock when I ordered so what took so long I don't know. I suspect this is a rare case, but if I need something in the future, I'll just pay a bit more and order it from Hong Kong or something ;) I wouldn't mind the delay so much if it was free delivery, but £5 for two filters seems expensive to me.

I probably won't use them again unless they have what I want at half the price of everyone else.

I take it you mean £5 for the delivery, right?

I bought a Sigma 24-70 off them and had to return it as it was back focusing badly. They had the lens for over 3mths and endless phone calls and e-mails got me pretty much nowhere. The lens arrived back to me just under 3 and a half months after sending it off, not good for a upto 28days stated in their contract, hence that is the last thing I will ever buy from Purely Gadget. Sorry to rant

Sorry to buck the trend. I had also heard some bad things about them but I have ordered from them on two occasions (Nikon SB800 and a spare camera battery) and have had no problems.

Maybe I'm lucky! :)

Yes, it was £5 for delivery, the filters came to ~£50. There are always going to be extremes whoever you order from, some people will get their order in 2 days, others in 10. I personally won't be ordering from them again.

I've read a few reviews of their service in the interim and it sounds like they have a problem with delivery times overall, as that is one of the areas on price runner where they score lower. To be honest, if you're in no hurry for an item, they're probably going to get it to you eventually, but don't count on their 2-5 days delivery statement.

You and me both, wombar. Ordered 3 filters from them 3 weeks ago. One delivered within 3 days, one delivered in 10 days. The third one they sent the wrong size through, which I had to return, and I'm still waiting for the correct one. And it's always me having to contact them for an update. Not impressed. Will vote with my wallet and go elsewhere next time.

I recieved a phishing email proporting to be from purelygadgets some months ago. It must have been from stolen info gleaned from their customer database as I had tried (unsuccesfully) to buy a camcorder from them online (couldn't get my card details to work so had to post them a cheque). When I asked to have my details removed from their customer database they were very reluctant and flatly refused to accept they had been compromised.

This company stinks.
DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM.
I'd never do business with them again. I ordered a lens, my C Card was promptly debited and the lens was supposed to arrive in 3 days. Ten days later I phoned and was assured it would be delivered within 2 days - Nothing. Phoned numerous times until they eventually admitted to not having the lens. Here's their mail :

"I am writing to you in connection with your order placed on 22-02-08. I am aware that you have already contacted us a number of times and have been given the information that you would receive your item very soon. Unfortunately there was a problem with an incoming shippment which contained your item. Part of this shippment was not delivered to us and this was the reason that our logistic team have not been able to send it to you yet. I do apologize for any confusing information, we are trying to get the missing part of that shippment ASAP in order to dispatch your lens. However we currently do not have a specific dispatch date."
