Couldn't find anything via search, so thought I'd throw it open. I'm looking to hire a Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S wide angle lens to see what difference 'quality glass' makes to my landscape shots. However, from what I've read, there's no way of attaching filters - either front or rear.

I'm lost without a polarising filter for much of the stuff I shoot, so was wondering if anybody knows a geniune workaround to this.

Thanks.

Genuine workaround is to buy the Nikon 17-35 f/2.8 AF-S instead :)

If you want to use filters, the 14-24 is the wrong lens. I tried with a 105mm B&W but got nowhere - it shows up in the frame.

Thanks for the replies. Will definitely try hiring another lens then as we are blessed with great light here in the South west, but unless filtered tends to create too much contrast - polariser is a must have on bright days.

Thanks for the link - be interesting to see how much the filter kit will be when launched. Just have to wait until it's available to hire then.

As Lee's 105mm C-Pol is nearly £200, and this going to be bigger and will be a low demand item, £350+ for the C-Pol would not surprise me!

I think you could wait a very long time for a polariser for it. :)

If you want a landscape lens I'd take Andy's advice and avoid the 14-24mm (I have one!)

Lee are in the process of developing filters for it and should be launching it very soon. Won't be polariser at the outset though, just grads.

They have trialled it at a few trade fairs and there is enough demand for them to build one from scratch.

I spoke to them in October last year and they said it just wasn't going to be commercially viable to make it  So they've either changed their minds or the info is wrong. I hope at least, they make a holder for the ND grads, I love that lens, and it would be so good to use filters with it :)

Still, we'll find out for sure next week at FOI.

I spoke to them 2 weeks ago and I have an email subscription for new products so I'm just waiting for that email to drop into my inbox :)
