could anyone advise me on filters for my sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens on a nikon d50.i am after a polarisor and some nd grads,i have been reading photo mags which suggest the cokin p filter holder wont be compatible with wide angle resulting in vignetting. my funds are quite limited so i cant really stretch to the lee filter system. any help will be much appreciated, many thanks kevin

I used to use a cokin on my 10-20 all I did was buy a cheap imitation holder on ebay and then I cut 2 of the slots off each side so it only had the 1 slot, worked no problem.

You will need 100mm filters your choices are between Cokin Z Pro, Hitech, Kood & Lee, look at someware like Warehouse Express http://www.warehouseexpress.com/square-or-rectangular-filters/b3073?SortBy=3&PageNum=43 for an idea of cost and availabillity. I would however reccomend getting the Lee holder & adaptor rings which is by far the best availlable

Reducing the number of leafs in the holder helps to reduce vignetting but the best solution is the Lee holder and wide angle adaptor and if neccessary reduce the number of holder leafs.
