Been trying to do star trails this evening using exposures of about 10 minutes. All of my pictures are coming out with a fairly uniform orange background from the streetlights in my road. They are the older type of streetlights that are very orange so I think only emit light on a couple of frequencies.

Is there a way to get rid of it in post processing? I have the images in arw (sony raw format).

There is, but the way that I know is quite an involved process and could be difficult to describe the various steps required on a forum.

What software are you using?

I can borrow a laptop with CS4 on it if needed, other than that the Sony raw converter software that came with the camera and GIMP.

Think you can purchase a light pollution filter next time you shoot.
