Hi all,I wonder if anyone could recommend a very good quality Uv filter t put on my new canon 85mm 1.4 lens,
I want to put on one that will do the lens justice, many thanks Roy.

Any minute now, this is going to turn into one of these threads where people tell you to use a lens hood instead. If you do want to use one, I'd suggest B+W MRC Nano XS-Pro (cheaper alternative: B+W MRC in the F-Pro mount), or Hoya HD or Hoya Ultra Pro (cheaper alternative: Hoya Fusion). All these filters have both high-quality multicoating and a repellent layer that makes them easy to clean. Avoid uncoated filters that flare when shooting into the light (which both brands also make). There's no particular reason to buy earlier versions like Hoya's Pro-1, which are multicoated but lack the repellent layer. Note that there are some suspiciously cheap name-brand filters on ebay that are probably fake. The dealers listed on www.camerapricebuster.co.uk will have reliable suppliers, and Amazon often has good deals.
