Filter trade in?

Now that i've bought a 15-85mm to replace the 17-85mm that broke,
i obviously need to replace my filters as they are 67mm and i need 72mm for the new lens.

I know i could just buy brand new filters but as i've no use for my old ones is there any shop that
would do a sort of part exchange (like buying a new car)?

Might be a daft idea.

Being as shops make huge profits on filters I can't really see them running such a scheme.

Actually, MPB used to sell 2nd-had filters. Might be worth checking them out.

Pretty sure you (Adam) are entitled to use the classifieds section on this forum - might be worth a thread offering a swap or sale. If you have a good local photographic shop (and a good relationship with them), they might take the old ones in as a part exchange but probably won't be over generous with their offer.

I'd have said you'd be better off selling them privately and buying new ones to be honest Adam.
The other option is to use a step-down ring though you'll get quite a lot of vignetting below about 25mm.

Will pop into the local small camera shop (who do 2nd hand stuff) and see if they would do it,
if not i'll stick them up in classified!
