Hi all, I'm using an OMD E-M5ii. Widest lens is 12mm (24mm equivalent) with a 62mm filter thread. I'm looking for a system that will allow me to use polariser and two stacked filters, either 2x hard grads or ND's. Maybe a reverse grad, we'll see.

The reassuringly expensive choice seems to be the Lee Seven5 deluxe kit which gets me everything I'd need but will be over £500 once I'd bought adaptors. That's a little hard to stomach!

The Hitech 85mm system is easier to justify cost wise but I read some concerns about colour casts, particularly when stacking, Any first hand experience on here?

And one last penny pinching question, any experience of mounting the filter holder onto a polariser? Not done this before but it seems sound in theory though I guess one has to be careful about vignetting. I'd actually considered this approach in conjunction with a 100mm kit....

Can't help on your specific request but have a look at this place - http://srb-photographic.co.uk/

I haven't use any NDs but use their grads with no problems; they seem good value.

Dave

Another vote for SRB, I've got several of their filters and they are fine and the customer service is great. The P size square filters with suitable adaptor ring work with my Oly 9-18mm

Cheers folks. What are the srb's like for stacking? Any colour casts?

Not so as you would notice, by coincidence at the weekend I took a long exposure with an SRB 10 stop and the same shot without a filter and when I compared them there was a very slight white balance difference but if you looked at the filter shot on its own you would not have noticed.

Cheers folks. The Nisi filter kit looks decent and a good price. I'm not sure I understand how their filter housing works though. Looks like it has a 58mm filter thread on it. Can it still be rotated once positioned?

The filter prices look amazingly cheap. Well worth me investigating, thanks.

I use the Cokin P series on my Fuji. However all the grads and nd's give awful colour casts that become a nightmare if stacked. But I guess you get what you pay for, the filters are resin and not glass. On the other hand the polarizer is great (it's glass). I've heard Cokin's Nuance filters are decent but pricey.

I have the Lee Seven5 system for my mirrorless system and have the usual ND grads and the little and big stopper. It's a great system and the filters are top notch, but as you say expensive (although I purchased them in dribs and drabs rather than all at once).

The only issue with the Seven5 system (other than price) is the polariser. For one it's hideously expensive (nearly £200 on it's own), and secondly, due to it attaching to the front of the filter holder (rather than in a rear slot like Cokin for instance), it is very susceptible to reflections from the lens face reducing image quality.

I returned mine and for polarisers, use a Hoya Pro screw in unit as necessary, but then it's difficult to then combine with the ND grads etc. (unless hand holding). It's about the only bit of the Lee system that in my opinion needs a bit of a redesign.

I invested in the HiTech 67mm Colby Brown landscape filter kit. Absolutely superb results from it so far, and very little (if any) colour cast even with stacked filters.

Simon.

Go for it, at those prices you have nothing to loose

Try SRB Photographic, excellent value for money

I have a question regarding the SRB filter holder. How does the holder attach to the adaptor ring, does it slide on like the cokin p series or is there a catch like Lee Filters?

If you have the std Lee 100mm set already (not sure if you do) you just need the 62mm WA adaptor, I've used the 100mm set on my OM-D E-M5 MKII, it looks a little large but it's more cost effective than buying the 7/5 set.

I use a Formatt Hitech 85 mm set up but with two filter layers in place on the 12-40 or the 9-18 the polariser causes vignetting
