Hi guys, so in september i will be going to university in norwich and i will be studying photography and we are doing film for the first term so me and my house mates want to set up a processing room in our garage as we believe it will be cheaper to process the film ourselves as its £7 a roll to just be processed here.

so my question is is there any kind of kit to get started with processing film?, i did photography for 2 years at college so i know how to process film i just don't know where to get all the equipment from?

thanks

James

I think there is a tank for sale in the section?

cheers, just discovered that i have a tank with 2 reels, 2 measuring cylinders, a timer :)

Jugs, Storage bottles, Thermometer, Scissors, Bottle opener (for opening 35mm cartridges), Protective clothing (gloves, apron, goggles) ???

You may not need all those items but it adds to your list of possible reuirements.

Are you just processing film or wet printing as well?

AG Photographic and Firstcall both do processing starter kits or you can pick up what you need from a well known auction site or places like Secondhand Darkroom Supplies

You don't really need that much kit, although if there are a few of you all processing film at the same time it may make sense to get one of the larger processing tanks so you can save on chemical costs.
