The camera nerd in me shouted out when this "navigation device" made an appearance in the latest episode of Star Wars: Andor today...



I wonder if they still make the original Polaroid film out there?

And IIRC, the Storm Troopers in the real Star Wars film were armed with MG34s or 42s (among other things!)

I'll have to get me a Polaroid as my sat nav sends me the wrong way and I just end up arguing with it even when I know the way ! , How many of us knew this hidden feature ! How do you update it for new Roads ?

Yeah, there are loads of Earth weapons retrofitted as blasters in Star Wars. The most famous is probably Han Solo's blaster, which is built around a Mauser pistol.

@excalibur2 's flashgun also features in 1950 Arthur C Clarke novel called "The Sands of Mars" where the main character uses it to send a distress signal to Phobos after crashing in a valley on Mars, he had it with him to use with his mythical Leica XXA.
