I recently made this film about a Church local to me. I have been asked to make at least one more, so I'd appreciate any comments which will help me to improve in future. It's 10 minutes long, so don't feel you have to watch it all. Filmed on a 7D, and audio recorded with an H4N.

Thanks, in advance!

Good video :) I must admit, I didn't watch it all but that's only as the subject is not really my thing, but the first 3 or 4 minutes I watched were very good. Only thing I though I may change was the angle of the interview, I would of zoomed in on him more, maybe used a 50mm prime on the 7d at a low aperture? What dolly was you using for the big slide shots?

Good job though :)

Very good overall, maybe think about more interesting angles and story telling, so tell a story in your shots in regard to 3/4 different shots tight mid long short. So for instance! Hat, hands, rings, face story. Cross, wood feet hands long mid tight. The start was excellent the glidecam shots where v. Good

I like it.

I'm assuming one camera.

The external shot of the ship is overexposed.
There's a lot of wind noise.

Thanks for the helpful comments! I agree with everything - angles, badly-shot interview and wind noise (which I wanted some of but perhaps there's a bit too much). Yeah, just one camera, although I've bought a 5d mkii for future use.

The gliding shots were actually done with a home-made track dolly; eight 2-metre plastic pipes, joined by bits of wood with tape wrapped around them. Then a plank of wood with eight skateboard wheels attached. It produces some pretty nice shots (with a bit of digital stabilisation in FCPX), but it's a pain in the bum to transport!
