I recently purchased a Lumix TZ 27 together with an PNY 8gb sdhc 20mbs card which is all fine but after taking some vidio with it and then trying to play it on my television which is also a panasonic Viera type set that accepts sd cards it informed me that it could not see the file but my other camara a panasonic standard sd card movie it will accept. I'm afraid im not to clued up with all the file type jargon i thought maybe a some kind soul out there in forum land might be able to help this poor technophobe Cheers n Beers for now :help:

As far as I can see online, the TX27 records in AVCHD format for video. There are reported problems on the web with playing this format using the Viera Image Viewer built in to the TV.

It would be useful to post the TV model number, that way there's a chance to search online for the manual for useful information on the file formats it accepts.

Hi Alastair thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly ahh so it seems there might be a prob. with the file type , i have found the model number now =TX-L32E3B and like you say i will have a look through the web see if there is any more info. cheers n beers . T.J.:)

The problem with AVCHD is that it's a family of formats rather than a universal format.

Page 72 of the tv manual gives the formats it supports. It's only going to play the AVCHD file from the camera if it has a .mts file extension and is to the H.264 codec.

I can't find the manual for the TZ27 on the Panasonic site.

There are a few file converters about, something like Sony Vegas Movie Studio would allow you to edit and convert for about £25.
