Can anybody help with my 5D Mk3, when I download my piccies to my computer, the file names are, for example, _MG_3539. Why the initial underscore? I have looked at my manual, the answers probably there, but I find it a bit confusing with 1st User settings, 2nd user settings, I just can't follow the logic of the manual.

Any pointers much appreciated.

You have it set to Adobe rgb?
 
Have checked it, yes, it is set to Adobe RGB.

Page 76 of the manual
If the image is captured with the color space set to Adobe RGB, the file name will start with "_MG_" (first character is an underscore).
 
Thanks for your help Phil and Peter, have changed the colour (color?) space to sRGB, which I understand it should be anyway, I never touched that, was probably set to Adobe out-of-the-box.
