Field camera

Hi everyone please can you help when I try putting photos & videos from my field camera onto my smart tv via a card reader all the photos & videos appear as thumbnail but it won’t let me play videos, a caption appears on the screen saying unable to play. Many thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to TP

My initial thought is that the TV is expecting a compatible format and what you are 'feeding it' is not compatible. Our (now over 10 years) old Panasonic plasma will only play videos & show pictures taken on a Pansonic camera.

So to aid others in advising better thane me can you provide this information:-

1. Make & Model of the TV
   And save folk looking it up, if you can provide an info about the photo & video file types it 'says' it will play>
   
   
2. Akin to the above
   What file types are your photo & videos (NB I have not heard the type Field Camera in many a decade i.e. pre digital......) so just what make & model of camera are you referring to???

Hi Box Brownie thanks for reply, right I think I’ve got the tv info . File Format jpeg. ARW 1 . Extension jpg / jpe / jpeg / arw .
Video MPEG1. Unfortunately I can’t find anything in the manual or of the internet about the trail camera, The trail camera is a GRM and the Tv is a Sony Bravia smart tv 18 month old .

This might help GRM camera. I would be surprised if the static files are anything but jpegs.

How have you configured the trailcam? On mine (different make) you have to specify video duration (30 secs in my case) and whether you want stills as well. Have you virewd the video and stills on the trailcam, and tried them on a pc at all?
