Yes
ill be going for the first time in a few weeks

ive already searched the forums and read about places to go and see
so thats not a problem as such

but a few questions i had:

i might need to get some more memory cards
would it be cheaper in duty-free than online? amazon have 4gb sandisk ultra ii's for about £7

also considering purchasing a point and shoot as i dont really have one
again, would it be better/cheaper to buy from duty free or online?

generally, what kind of things can u take on the plane, bag size etc, what u can and cant carry apart from the obvious things like knives or whatever

does your bag still have to be kept unlocked?

anything else i should know???

thanks in advance

Buy the cards in New York at B&H Photo I'd say, maybe worth getting the compact there as well.

hi thanks for your reply

i had a look at their website
and the same ultra ii's as an example are $20 which is about £14
double amazons price

The exchange rate isn't really in your favour, buy here online or possibly at duty free but I'd get the gear this side of the pond so that you have some time to play before going.

I'd heartily recommend a Fuji compact - fabulous stuff...

Cheers,
James

Never, in years of extensive travelling, since the advent of online shopping, have I ever come across anything cheaper in a duty free shop. 7DayShop is one of the standard price benchmarks as far as memory cards are concerned.

Check the airline's own web site for luggage requirements. It varies. You can lock your luggage if you want. If it needs to be opened, they will open it.

I could write more, but got to go to work now.
