I understand pretty much every setting on my 450D now except a few things which I'm about to ask.
First one is the exposure... -2, -1, 0, +1, +2
What does this actually do? I know what exposure does, but surely the shutter speed, the aperture and the ISO all control this? Is the 'exposure' setting a 4th control or is it meant just as a guide or what? Can someone explain it simply to me please and how I'd use it?
The second one... Tv mode (or Av mode). When shooting motorsport, I normally put it on Tv (shutter priority) mode with a shutter speed of 1/60 (ish) for panning. I put the ISO onto Auto and the aperture is adjusted for me (as is the ISO).
But what adjusts first, aperture or ISO? Ideally I'd like a Shutter-then-aperture priority mode. I know I can set the ISO to 100 but if it's way to dark I'd sooner it increase the ISO than miss the shot. That seems logical, but sometimes I'm shooting and it'll use ISO 1600 and like f/20.
I'd much sooner it use f/4 and ISO 100 (for example).
Can anyone explain why, and if it's possible to alter this?
Hopefully I've explained myself properly...
