Ferrania solaris 400 35mm Film,

How many of you have heard and shot this film?

Regards
T

yes -- I have but it was discontinued when Ferrania Company went broke.

Can you share some views on this? Perhaps examples and how this film can be shot.

I will have to search my Flickr to see if i have any on there -- I DID use some and the 800 ASA for local press work -- but I have DUMPED all my Press Negatives now I am out of work. It was very good and CHEAP! It was OK at 400 ASA when Fresh but if you get some NOW it will be outdated and need to be rated at 200 ASA.

Thats correct. they are out-dated. I have bought few rolls from US and should be here in couple of weeks.

Well I found the FG plus (either 100 or 200 iso) wasn't anything special over Kodak or Fuji and IIRC poundland used to sell it in the past my results showed more grain.

A pano h'mm seems everything is sliding to the left

Salvation by Peter Elgar, on Flickr

The Salvation Army band playing in Brentwood High Street outside Marks and Spencers - they kept their eyes averted from the window display ! I used my newly aquired 'old' Pentax SV+ 24mm f3.5 SMC Takumar lens on the Solaris 800 ASA film.

Drill inspection by Peter Elgar, on Flickr

A Sergeant-Major inspects cadets at a Marching Band drill competition. Leica M6+35mm f1.4 Summilux, Solaris ( Ferrania) 800 ASA film, available light.

I take it you've looked at the examples on Flickr to get an idea? I've just searched and found quite a lot of results. To me, the film looks pretty low contrast and grainy.

Many thanks everyone. looks nice to me.
Yes steve i just managed to see some on flickr too.

I have ordered few rolls from US via friend. they are expired in 2010/11 & Are ISO 400. I think they will allrite on 1 stop overexpose!
